'Ticket To Work' for Americans with Disabilities who 'Choose To Work'

Support for Americans with Disabilities Who Want to Work

Why Ticket to Work?

If you receive disability benefits from Social Security, then you know that getting those benefits took time, energy, and patience. In determining your eligibility for disability benefits, Social Security found that you could not earn enough money to support yourself. With the right opportunities and supports however, many people can earn a higher standard of living by going to work and leaving benefits.
Earning a living through employment is not something everyone can do but it may be right for you. We have the information and tools you need to manage the risks involved in earning your way off benefits. Those who can, find that the rewards far outweigh those risks. Take the time to learn about the employment services and supports Social Security offers to beneficiaries with disabilities…you may be surprised!

Who Qualifies?

Everyone ages 18 through 64 who receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits because of their disability, is eligible to participate in the Ticket to Work program. If you're ready to work, the Ticket program can help you get started!

viewing party graphicSocial Security invites Ticket to Work service providers and community partners to organize a “WISE Webinar Viewing Party” for our upcoming webinar titled, Support Services for People with Disabilities: Ticket to Work, Job Accommodations, and You.
The 90-minute webinar on July 25 will present information about special Social Security programs and rules that may apply to individuals who receive SSDI and/or SSI benefits. Experts will offer information on Ticket to Work, Work Incentives, provide answers to frequently asked questions about employment, and resources for additional information.
A WISE Webinar Viewing Party can be a great opportunity for service providers to meet Ticket-eligible beneficiaries and their family members, talk with them about their employment goals, and help them learn more about Ticket to Work and Work Incentives.
